Annotated Bibliography

After you have been assigned to a topic-related group, you must begin gathering resources and information for your project. One of the best ways of presenting information, especially in an academic context, is an annotated bibliography. For this assignment, you will be asked to write an annotated bibliography of at least 5 and no more than 10 resources, including at least one print-based periodical, one print source (book , journal, encyclopedia, etc), and some virtual sources. You should pay special attention to explaing not only what your sources contain but also considering how and why they are accurate, reliable, and credible sources of information.

To complete this assignment successfully, you must:

  • acquire at least five sources
  • record the bibliographic information for each citation in MLA format
  • Write the annotations, which must:
    • Summarize the text's main and supporting points.
    • Assess the writer's position and credibility.
    • Reflect on the relevance of this text to your project.

  • Make sure that your annotated bibliography is formatted like the model bibliographies given out in class.
  • Turn in a typed, single-spaced, spell-checked, proofread paper copy of your bibliography to the instructor by class time on March 31st.
